Introduction

Bet99 is a story that begins not too long ago, in 2019, but in just a few years, the company has gone from one milestone to another as it builds out a massive presence in Ontario. The company not only has a few major celebrities pushing its brand through, it also has a whole lot of marketing dollars bringing in bucketloads of customers.

That means, Bet99 needs a great product to support the kind of traffic it receives and even though they are one of the biggest brands out there, living up to that kind of marketing may not be as easy as it sounds. The company continues to be one of the popular brands in the Ontario market but let’s take a deeper look to see what they really have to offer to their customers and is it worth the noise.

Key Features

Bet99 isn’t trying to do anything too clever or out of the ordinary when it comes to the online gambling experience. They cover all the major sports and have a special place for sports Canadians love, as well as sports that may not necessarily be known in other parts of the world – like Floorball.

However, they do what is expected quite well – their website has a little scrollable bar on top that shows all the games they have to offer, as well as a convenient Home button and a button to see all live games. They have a section for specials on the left sidebar, right under the entire listing of sports, and they have their promotions listed right under it.

FlashBets

The one unique feature that stands out for Bet99 is their FlashBets, which are quick shots or quick bets on very specific outcomes. For example, if the Indiana Pacers are playing the Chicago Bulls, then a couple of the FlashBet options might be “1st Field Goal Exact”, indicating the nature of the first field goal and who will make it, and what it’s value might be (e.g. Indiana Pacers made 2 or Indiana Pacers made 3). They make some common moments of the game much more interesting, especially since they list all possible outcomes that they are offering some crazy lines for.

There are regular boosts running on the site and as far as a sports betting experience is concerned, Bet99 gets the basics right! That said, it is quite basic and while they do have a section for Education and a quick way to change your odds format between American, European and Decimal, they are generally quite plain vanilla in a world of ever-changing sportsbooks.

There’s no live streaming – just a graphical display of what’s going on but the most notable missing element here is eSport betting! You do get a Casino with Live Tables to play with, however.

User Interface and Experience

You don’t see this kind of an interface too often with sportsbooks but the Bet99 interface is actually one of the best ones you’ll see out there – and for one simple reason – it’s all on the same page. That means, when you go from one sport to another, you don’t jump around and wait for the page to reload everything – only the section in the middle changes. So, you get quicker loads and a less jumpy screen, which creates a much better experience overall.

The font sizes are a bit on the smaller side and while that appears to be the norm in the industry, the green font on the black background needs you to look at bit harder. The rest of the font is light gray to white, so the contrast isn’t 100% black & white, but it works.

The registration section opens in a pop-up window, divided into four stages so all in all, they are one of the better sportsbook experiences you will find in the area of ease of use.

Games and Sports

All the sports offered on Bet99 are divided into 2-sections – the top leagues that are the most popular sports or leagues followed around the world, followed by a list of all the sports they have on offer.

Amongst the top leagues, they have the NFL, NHL, English Premier League, NCAA for football and basketball and some major UFC events. Amongst the entire list, you’ll find all the usual suspects – Football, Hockey, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, MMA and Rugby, as well as some of the less-popular sports like Lacrosse, Water Polo, winter sports like Biathlon, Ski Jumping and even Floorball, which is just 5-a-side field hockey.

While Bet99 does not offer too many sports, the good thing about the sports they offer, is that they not only have all the major leagues covered, they also cover a lot of local and regional leagues, teams and games – something you may not find everywhere.

Football Rating

On the NFL, it’s very hard to get things wrong and Bet99 does pretty well here – much like most of the other big names in the business. They cover all the NFL games as well as college games and go into in-depth props with all their game bets divided into Popular bets, Same Game Parlays, bets based on quarters, halves, FlashBets, Game Props and Player Props – pretty much the same standard across the site.

Hockey Rating

As a licensed operator in the Canadian market, there is one sport that you have to get right and Bet99 does that as much as anyone can. They have all the games from the NHL while also covering Ice Hockey in other European leagues like the Latvian Hockey League, 1.Liga, LIIGA and more.

Basketball Rating

Another sport that Bet99 does really well – they offer so many different leagues from the NBA and NCAA leagues to the Euroleague, Spanish, Argentine, Turkish, Australian and almost every other major league you can think of. Men’s and Women’s basketball is covered through the length and breadth of the sport and you’ll struggle to find something missing here.

College Sports Rating

College sports is quite popular in North America and Bet99 have covered the ground with NCAA leagues for football and basketball. Baseball might not always find the same representation on all sportsbooks and Bet99 is not very different – However, when it does show up, you get all the top men’s and women’s collegiate programs to dip into.

Soccer Rating

Very few European sportsbooks get this wrong and there’s very little that you can get wrong considering how much information there is out there on what’s hot and what’s not. Bet99 covers all the global league in the world’s favourite sport and has everything you could ever want from betting on soccer – Props, Same Game Parlays, FlashBets and more!

Betting Odds Review

Bet99 does not make it’s own odds and as someone who relies on others for their odds data, their offerings can be a hit or miss. That said, there’s no operator who always offers the best odds for any sport or game. As far as those kind of scenarios are concerned, you will see Bet99 rubbing shoulders with almost all the other top brands in the industry.

There are some complaints about some of their odds being slightly inferior or not making sense but that’s a complaint everyone has probably had with every single sports betting brand out there. In terms of the different kinds of lines and props offered, Bet99 does it really well for the sports that it offers and if you’re looking for the top Canadian sports and great odds on them, more often than not, Bet99 will do that for you.

Bonuses Offered

At any point of time, Bet99 have at least 3-bonuses on offer for their sportsbooks – a $500 Welcome bonus where they match your first time deposit 100%, up to $500, as long as your minimum deposit is $20. Some of their other bonuses include a $10 bonus bet for pre-game bets of at least $50, on an NBA game and the exact same option for pre-game bets on NFL games as well.

Not much else is going on for Bet99 when it comes to Bonuses but it is quite likely that you might find a few bonuses coming your way each week once you’re a member. However, from the outside, the sight looks a little bleak even though their first time deposit bonus looks quite generous.

Deposits and Withdrawals

When it comes to Deposits, Bet99 offers 5-options:

  • Interac
  • NSTADEBIT for online bank transfers
  • Instant Bank Transfers
  • VISA
  • Mastercard

In most cases, these options are adequate for the Canadian market and while you may find other operators using online wallets, these tend to be the safest and most secure channels for deposits.

Deposits are generally completed within 10-minutes while withdrawals tend to take a bit longer. They say 3-5 days for withdrawal timelines but if you’ve done everything right, it generally takes less than 24-hrs.

Withdrawal options on Bet99 include:

  • Interac
  • NSTADEBIT for online bank transfers
  • Instant Bank Transfers
  • VISA
  • Mastercard

Different documents may be required to activate different withdrawal options.

Safety and Security

Bet99 is recognized as a secure sportsbook for handling personal financial details. Partnering with the best in the industry, Bet99 ensures the secure transfer of data. Employing encryption technology for confidentiality, transactions occur through secure servers, ensuring overall safety. Moreover, Bet99 operates as a licensed sportsbook in the regulated Ontario market.

Mobile App Info

The Bet99 mobile app replicates a lot of the properties of the Bet99 website in that the top-scrolling sport menu bar is also the main sport-selector on the mobile app. You have the main website banner highlighting the bonus on top but the size of the font suggests that the app is a progressive web app and is merely resizing and reshaping the website for the mobile phone.

While that may mean that the app doesn’t work well for the images and banners that you might want to keep an eye on, it surely means a much more uniform, stable experience in actually using the app – whether you are on the phone or on you computer browser.

Customer Service

Bet99 offers bilingual customer support options through their 24/7 chat support feature – offering English and French! Chat is generally quite capable of handling most issues but if you do need to find information about something, they also have a help centre that is quite basic but tends to answer some of the more essential questions you may have in mind.

You can also submit an email request on: support-on@bet99.ca

Average User Reviews

Users on the Apple App Store have given Bet99 a 4.4 rating out of 5, with almost 70% of the votes being 5-stars and a few unhappy customers did share their displeasure on losing out bets on their app – which seems an odd thing to do.

Their rating on Google Play Store is quite low – a mere 2.2 out of 5 – but with just 25-reviews, it is more likely that the disgruntled customers made their way to add reviews before anyone else.

Review Conclusion

Bet99 is one of the newer sites and there are certain things they do really well but lack in other areas. Bet99 sticks to their true nature – a sportsbook – and they are focused on just that. While that means there are no fantasy sports, daily challenges and other little incentives running through the site, they do a great job at being a sportsbook.

They are missing some crucial things like eSports betting and live streaming but the sports they provide, they have a comprehensive offering and cover all bases. If you’re in the market for a decent, dependable sportsbook, Bet99 does a great job at it. If however, you like to dabble in the outer edges of sports or eSports, you may have to look elsewhere.
