The highly anticipated second-round NHL playoff series between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks is set to kick off Wednesday in Vancouver.
As the only two Canadian clubs among the remaining eight teams in Stanley Cup contention, excitement is soaring.
Following Game 1 in Vancouver, Game 2 will take place on Friday at Rogers Arena.
The series will then shift to Edmonton's Rogers Place for Games 3 and 4 on May 12 and May 14, respectively.
If necessary, Game 5 will return to Vancouver on May 16, with Game 6 scheduled for May 18 in Edmonton.
A potential Game 7 would be back in Vancouver on May 20.
The anticipation for the series is not confined to the ice, as B.C. Premier David Eby has accepted a bet proposed by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith on social media.
The loser of the series will have to deliver a statement in the legislature written by the winner while wearing the opposing team's jersey.
Despite Vancouver's dominance in the regular season, winning all four matchups against Edmonton, both teams are gearing up for an intense showdown.
Outdoor watch parties will be held in the Ice District on Wednesday and Friday, providing fans with an electrifying atmosphere.
However, due to previously scheduled events at Rogers Place, there will be no indoor watch parties for the away games this week.
Nevertheless, hockey enthusiasts can still catch the action live and cheer on their favourite teams.
As the Oilers and Canucks prepare to battle it out on the ice, hockey fans across Canada eagerly anticipate the thrilling matchups ahead, with other second-round series already underway across the league.
