World Cup winner and one of France's most pivotal players, Antoine Griezmann, has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 33.
The Atletico Madrid forward, affectionately known as "Grizou," ended his 10-year national career after playing 137 matches and scoring 44 goals.
This surprising decision comes just weeks after he expressed intentions to continue until the 2026 World Cup.
Griezmann's departure follows the exits of other French stars like Olivier Giroud, Blaise Matuidi, Raphael Varane, and Hugo Lloris, marking the end of an era for France's golden generation.
