Air Canada has launched its inaugural Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Fan Flight program, offering young fans a unique opportunity to witness the PHWL Finals live.
As the premier partner of the PWHL and the official airline to the first six teams, Air Canada aims to foster fan engagement and support for women's hockey.
Andy Shibata, Vice President at Air Canada, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "Expanding our beloved Fan Flight program to the PWHL demonstrates our dedication to championing gender equality in sports and celebrating the passion of hockey fans."
The Fan Flight program is part of Air Canada's commitment to community engagement and provides fans with an immersive experience at live games.
Jayna Hefford, Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations at PWHL, praised the partnership, highlighting brands' impact in sports and the league's record-breaking achievements.
PWHL has witnessed remarkable attendance, with sold-out crowds at iconic venues like Scotiabank Arena and Montreal's Bell Centre.
To participate in the Fan Flight program, Canadians can nominate passionate young PWHL fans through the Air Canada website until May 3rd.
Winners will receive complimentary airfare, accommodation, game tickets, and more surprises.
This initiative follows Air Canada's historic partnership with PWHL, underscored by the "We All Fly" ad campaign.
The airline's commitment extends to other women's sports leagues, including the WNBA and the planned Project 8 professional women's soccer league in Canada.
