The Winnipeg Sea Bears have signed Darius Days, a standout forward from the NBA G League, a significant addition to their roster.

Standing at 6-foot-7, Days joins the Sea Bears after completing his second season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the G League.

He showcased his talent in the 2023-24 season, averaging 16.0 points and 6.9 rebounds across 45 regular season and Showcase games.

His stellar performance in March earned him the title of G League Player of the Month. He posted impressive stats of 25.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and one steal.

Days' journey to professional basketball began with the San Antonio Spurs NBA Summer League squad in 2022, where he demonstrated his skills by averaging 13.7 points and 10 rebounds over three games.

His performance earned him a two-way contract with the Miami Heat, followed by another two-way deal with the Houston Rockets. Since then, Days has remained with the Rockets organization, exhibiting his versatility and talent.

Coach Mike Taylor expressed his excitement about Days' addition to the Sea Bears, highlighting his NBA experience and exceptional three-point shooting abilities.

With a strong track record in the G League and a promising future ahead, Days is poised to make a significant impact in Winnipeg.

Known for his 3-and-D style of play, Days has consistently showcased his defensive prowess, averaging 1.1 steals per game and maintaining a 33.4% three-point shooting percentage over 92 G League regular season and Showcase games.

Days' collegiate career with the Louisiana State Tigers was equally impressive, where he started 91 of 92 games in his final three years and earned accolades such as second-team all-SEC.

His impressive stats, including 1,300 points and 800 rebounds, solidify his place among LSU's basketball elite.

Coach Taylor emphasized Days' seamless fit within the Sea Bears' roster and expressed confidence in his potential to thrive in Winnipeg.

Days joins a talented lineup of professional players, including Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson, David Muenkat, Chad Posthumus, and 2023 CEBL MVP Teddy Allen.

As the Sea Bears gear up for the upcoming season, Days' arrival adds depth and versatility to the team's frontcourt, setting the stage for an exciting journey ahead.
