Playing against the Miami Marlins, Ohtani became the first MLB player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season, solidifying his legendary status.

Ohtani's day didn't end there.
In a spectacular display, he not only reached the 50-50 milestone but also made history by becoming the first player to hit three home runs and steal two bases in the same game.
Ohtani led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a dominant 20-4 victory, securing a playoff spot for the team.
The Japanese superstar hit his 49th home run in the sixth inning and followed with his 50th in the seventh.
He finished the night with his 51st home run in the ninth inning, capping off a 6-for-6 performance that included 10 RBIs. "I almost cried," said Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas, reacting to Ohtani's remarkable feat.
Ohtani's 50th stolen base came early in the game, making him the first player in MLB history to achieve a 50-50 season.
His outstanding performance even earned praise from LeBron James, who posted on X, "THIS GUY IS UNREAL!!!"
His 50-50 milestone was reached in his 150th game of the season.
Ohtani had already broken the Dodgers' single-season home run record of 49, previously set by Shawn Green in 2001.
He also became the third player in MLB history to record six hits, three homers, and 10 RBIs in a single game.
Ohtani expressed his joy through an interpreter, "It's something I'm going to cherish for a very long time."
Despite recovering from elbow surgery, Ohtani continued to excel as a designated hitter, with plans to return to pitching next season.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Ohtani's dedication, saying, "He's not pitching this year, so I think he's emptying the tank offensively."
With the possibility of earning his third MVP award, Ohtani's 2023 season is already one for the record books.
