This year's T-Mobile Home Run Derby will take place at Globe Life Field on Monday at 8 p.m. ET and air on ESPN.

The first player to announce his participation in the annual tournament was Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson.

Henderson, trailing only Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani in home runs this MLB season, made his announcement while mic'd up during Baltimore's Sunday Night Baseball game against the Rangers on June 30.

Following Henderson's announcement, seven more star sluggers have joined the field, with Teoscar Hernández being the latest to confirm his participation during Wednesday's Dodgers-Phillies game.

Gunnar Henderson, Orioles

  • Current HR total: 27
  • Longest HR of 2024: 430 feet (June 10 vs. Rays)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 112.3 mph (April 29 vs. Yankees)

Henderson, who hit 28 home runs during his 2023 AL Rookie of the Year campaign, has nearly matched that number in the first half of the '24 season.

He will follow teammate Adley Rutschman, who made his Derby debut last year, and make his debut this year.

Pete Alonso, Mets

  • Current HR total: 18
  • Longest HR of 2024: 446 feet (June 4 vs. Nationals)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 115.3 mph (May 16 vs. Phillies)

Alonso will be making his fifth Derby appearance, having participated each year since 2019, except for 2020, when no All-Star Game festivities were held due to COVID-19.

If he wins this year, Alonso, a two-time winner (2019 and 2021), could tie Ken Griffey Jr. for the most Derby titles.

Alec Bohm, Phillies

  • Current HR total: 11
  • Longest HR of 2024: 427 feet (June 30 vs. Marlins)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 106.8 mph (June 30 vs. Marlins)

Bohm, not known for prolific home run hitting, has still shown significant power.

Four of his 11 homers this season have travelled over 415 feet, and nine have had an exit velocity of 101.9 mph or better.

Typically a doubles hitter, Bohm will be upping his game for the fun of the Derby.

Bobby Witt Jr., Royals

  • Current HR total: 15
  • Longest HR of 2024: 468 feet (May 21 vs. Tigers)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 112.0 mph (July 7 vs. Rockies)

Witt, a native of Colleyville, Texas, will make his Derby debut near his hometown.

After a breakout 2023 season with the first 30/30 campaign in franchise history, Witt has been even better this year, earning his first All-Star nod.

Marcell Ozuna, Braves

  • Current HR total: 24
  • Longest HR of 2024: 446 feet (April 12 vs. Marlins)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 114.6 mph (April 12 vs. Marlins)

Ozuna has been a key player for the Braves, stepping up after injuries to key hitters.

After hitting 40 home runs for the first time in 2023, he aims to reach that milestone again this season.

This year will mark his Home Run Derby debut.

José Ramírez, Guardians

  • Current HR total: 23
  • Longest HR of 2024: 436 feet (June 28 vs. Royals)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 109.8 mph (June 24 vs. Orioles)

Ramírez, who is on track for his first 40-homer season, will participate in the Derby for the second time after his 2022 appearance, where he hit 17 home runs but was eliminated by Juan Soto in the first round.

Adolis García, Rangers

  • Current HR total: 17
  • Longest HR of 2024: 428 feet (April 1 vs. Rays)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 110.1 mph (April 1 vs. Rays)

García will represent the host team and attempt to become the fourth player to win the Derby in his home ballpark.

He made his Derby debut last year but was defeated in the first round by Randy Arozarena.

García hit 39 homers last season and added five more during the AL Championship Series, helping the Rangers win the World Series.

Teoscar Hernández, Dodgers

  • Current HR total: 19
  • Longest HR of 2024: 431 feet (April 1 vs. Giants)
  • Hardest-hit HR of 2024: 108.0 mph (May 6 vs. Marlins)

Despite Shohei Ohtani grabbing more headlines, Hernández has been a solid addition to the Dodgers' lineup.

Making his Derby debut, he aims to reach 30 homers for the second time in his career.
