New Jersey Achieves Record Gambling Revenues in January 2024

New Jersey kicks off 2024 with a bang, breaking multiple records in gambling revenue.

The total revenue soared to $559.1m in January, marking a robust 28.0% increase from the same period in 2023 and a 7.1% rise from December 2023.

Despite a slight dip in land-based casino revenue to $205.0m, largely attributed to a 5.8% decrease in physical slot earnings, online gambling experiences an unprecedented surge.

iGaming revenue hit an all-time high of $183.3m, a remarkable 19.9% year-on-year increase, with online slots contributing $180.8m to this record.

New Jersey achieved new milestones in the sports betting arena, with revenue reaching a record $170.8m in January, a staggering 136.1% jump from the previous year.

The total handle for the month reached $1.72bn, setting the stage for a potential record-breaking year.

Top players in the iGaming sector include Golden Nugget, Resorts Digital, and Borgata, while Meadowlands, FanDuel, PointsBet, and SuperBook lead the sports betting charge with $113.0m in revenue.

The stellar January performance positions New Jersey for a groundbreaking 2024, building on the state's achievements in 2023, where it posted all-time highs in total revenue, iGaming revenue, and sports betting revenue.
