Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray found himself in hot water after an incident during Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, resulting in a hefty $100,000 fine imposed by the NBA.

Murray, addressing the media after a team practice, conveyed contrition and brevity when questioned about the fine for throwing a heating pad onto the court during the game.

"It is what it is, and I take full responsibility," remarked Murray, acknowledging the consequences of his actions.

He swiftly pivoted, adopting a forward-looking perspective with a simple "On to the next."

Responding to queries regarding the origins of his behaviour, Murray admitted that frustration may have played a role.

However, he promptly redirected the conversation, indicating a desire to focus on the present and future rather than dwelling on past events.

Despite Murray's willingness to move on, the repercussions of his actions lingered.

In Game 2, Minnesota's defence effectively stifled the Nuggets, securing a commanding 2-0 series lead.

Murray's performance was lacklustre, tallying a mere 8 points on 3 of 18 shooting while contributing four turnovers to his team's tally of 16.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch wasted no time in condemning Murray's on-court behaviour, labelling it as "dangerous" and "inexcusable."

The incident occurred during the second quarter of Minnesota's 106-80 victory in Denver, with Murray tossing the heating pad onto the court while stationed on the bench.

Murray's action coincided with Minnesota's Karl-Anthony Towns receiving a pass from Kyle Anderson, adding a layer of disruption to the gameplay.

The fallout from the incident has sparked discussions regarding player conduct and the need for accountability in professional basketball.

As Murray and the Nuggets brace for the remainder of the series against the Timberwolves, the repercussions of his actions serve as a stark reminder of the importance of composure and sportsmanship on and off the court.
