Paolo Banchero's stellar performance in his first NBA playoff series wasn't enough to carry the Orlando Magic past the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7, as the Magic fell short in a 106-94 defeat on Sunday.

Despite opening an 18-point lead in the first half, the Magic couldn't withstand the Cavaliers' comeback, ultimately ending their postseason journey in disappointment.

Banchero, the 2022 No. 1 overall pick, poured in 38 points in the game, marking his third 30-point performance of the series.

Reflecting on the intense atmosphere of Game 7, Banchero described it as the most intense game he's ever played.

The noise from the Cleveland crowd made it challenging for the Magic to communicate on the court, hampering their ability to execute offensive plays effectively.

Although the Magic entered the fourth quarter trailing by only seven points, the Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell, who finished with 39 points, proved too much for Orlando to handle.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley expressed pride in his team's resilience and composure throughout the game.

While Banchero delivered an impressive performance, his teammates Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs struggled offensively, shooting a combined 3 for 28 from the field.

Suggs, who battled through an ankle injury sustained in the series opener, acknowledged the team's effort but expressed regret over their inability to secure the win.

Looking ahead, Banchero expressed confidence in the Magic's future, emphasizing that the Game 7 loss doesn't define the team or their season.

With their young core set to return next season, the Magic are poised to build on their playoff experience and strive for greater success.

Despite the disappointing end to their breakout season, the Magic remain optimistic about their future prospects.

Center Jonathan Isaac emphasized the team's determination to return more robust next season, armed with the valuable experience gained from their playoff run.

As one of the league's rising stars, Banchero's standout performance in the playoffs solidified his status as a future cornerstone for the Magic.

Coach Mosley praised Banchero's resilience and tenacity, highlighting his ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.

In conclusion, while the Magic may have fallen short in Game 7, their postseason journey served as a testament to their growth and potential as a team.

With Banchero leading the way, the Magic are poised to continue their ascent in the NBA ranks.
