A sensational scandal has rocked Toronto's casino scene as five individuals face charges following a probe into alleged cheating at a prominent casino establishment.
The Ontario Provincial Police's Investigation and Enforcement Bureau (IEB) launched an inquiry on March 18th, prompted by suspicions of collusion between a table games dealer and patrons at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto.
After thorough investigations, authorities apprehended and charged Tajveer Kour, 21, hailing from Brampton, along with Yakshu Nehra, 23; Himanshu Tanwar, 25; Parkh Raheja, 25, all residents of Etobicoke; and Anagha Varghese, 21.
The accused collectively face 19 charges, encompassing offences such as criminal breach of trust, cheating at play, theft under/over $5,000, and fraud under/over $5,000.
Following their arrests, all accused parties were subsequently released from custody pending court appearances scheduled for later dates.
The Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, adjacent to the Woodbine Racetrack in Etobicoke, opened its doors just last year, adding to the city's vibrant gaming landscape.
