iGaming Ontario (iGO) has launched a call for proposals as it aims to develop a centralized self-exclusion solution for gaming within the province, welcoming bids until April 24.
The agency is soliciting proposals for a software-as-a-service (SaaS) project designed to streamline the process for Ontario sports bettors to exclude themselves from regulated gaming websites voluntarily.
The selected bidder will collaborate with iGO on a five-year project to construct the program.
"This multi-year partnership with iGO presents an exciting opportunity for innovative organizations to make a positive and lasting impact on Ontario's igaming landscape," stated the agency, working in conjunction with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), and the Government of Ontario.
Despite Ontario's burgeoning online gaming market, comprising approximately 50 operators and 70 websites for online casino gambling, sports betting, and poker, the absence of a centralized self-exclusion system remains a notable gap.
iGO aims to establish a solution that garners trust and confidence from various stakeholders, prioritizing players and operators.
After meticulous regulatory groundwork, iGO announced its intention to initiate the Request for Proposals (RFP) process in November.
Seamless integration with all Ontario igaming operators' systems, encompassing the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG)'s igaming platform.
User-friendly access for individuals aged 19 and above to create and manage their self-exclusion profiles effortlessly.
Implementation of Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification processes that are intuitive, straightforward, and supported by comprehensive information.
Further details regarding the Centralized Self-Exclusion (CSE) Solution and additional bid opportunities are available on iGO's MERX page.
