The Canadian Premier League (CPL) and founding partner, Volkswagen Canada, join forces once again to kick off the 2024 Volkswagen FC: Game Changers program.
This initiative celebrates five remarkable Canadians who positively impact their communities through their passion for soccer.
Launched in 2022, the program recognizes individuals who embody Volkswagen Canada's commitment to 'Be the Change' by assuming leadership roles within Canada's soccer system and driving positive change through sport.
Selected CPL Game Changers will each receive a $5,000 donation to the community group or program of their choice, along with tickets to a CPL match and exclusive CPL x VW swag.
"We're honored to continue supporting this impactful initiative as a founding partner of the CPL," says Edgar Estrada, President of VW Brand for Canada.
"In its third year, the Volkswagen FC: Game Changers program has donated over $50,000 to local community programs and charities. We're excited to recognize Canadians who are actively driving positive change through sport."
Nominations for the 2024 Volkswagen FC: Game Changers Program are now open, with the deadline set for June 3, 2024.
Nominees can be outstanding individuals in Canadian soccer who significantly impact their communities through their dedication to the sport.
"The nominees in this program exemplify leadership, passion for the sport, and a commitment to promoting awareness, inclusivity, and accessibility," says Mark Noonan, Commissioner of the Canadian Premier League.
"We're privileged to partner with Volkswagen Canada once again to honor and celebrate these individuals through the Volkswagen FC: Game Changers program."
