The PGA Tour has announced a new partnership with 1Password, a Canadian cybersecurity brand, as a global sponsor for the upcoming Presidents Cup.

The 2024 edition of the prestigious golf event will be held at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada this September, making the sponsorship a significant opportunity for 1Password.

Joining the ranks of Rolex and Cognizant, 1Password steps in as a top-tier sponsor, replacing US banking group Citi, which had held the sponsorship since 2009.

This deal marks 1Password's first foray into the world of sports sponsorship.

The company will gain extensive branding assets, hospitality access, and digital media rights for the event.

Additionally, 1Password has signed an endorsement deal with Canadian golfer Mackenzie Hughes, who will don the 1Password logo on his shirt at PGA Tour events.

The partnership comes as more cybersecurity firms enter the sponsorship arena, recognizing the importance of aligning with high-profile events and organizations.

Recently, Juniper Networks sponsored the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026, and Fortinet became the Official Cybersecurity Partner for Espai Barça, the new sports and entertainment hub around FC Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium.

Brian Oliver, PGA Tour Executive Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, expressed his excitement about the new collaboration: "1Password has an established commitment to innovation and excellence in the cybersecurity industry, and we are thrilled that they have selected the Presidents Cup to partner with as they continue the evolution of their outstanding brand."

Melton Littlepage, 1Password Chief Marketing Officer, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the significance of the partnership: "As a Canadian-founded company, 1Password is proud to be partnering with the PGA Tour and the Presidents Cup in Montreal, and to further our shared core value of putting people first.

"This sponsorship will increase awareness of our new solutions to the ever-evolving challenges in cybersecurity for every company, human and family around the world."

Another major sponsor, Cognizant, agreed to a six-year global sponsorship of the Presidents Cup in 2021, extending through the 2026 edition, which will be held at Medinah Country Club in the US.
